Here at SpeakMexico, we love everyone equally, and so our students come from all parts of this planet. But mainly they come from Ireland, Norway, France and Germany.
Our classes start in the first Monday of every month. But dont worry if you miss this date, because we can accommodate late comers (tut-tut) with individual tutorials. But that wouldn’t be much fun would it?
All of our classes are designed for people 18 years and over, regardless of whether they act like children or not.
You are only as young as you feel, so there are no upper age limits on the people on our courses. Our courses are designed for people with all kinds of needs. We provide an amazing immersive language experience and an amazing atmosphere in the Caribbean. So if you think that you are able to have amazing experiences, and meet new people, we don’t mind what age you are!
We provide classes mainly in the morning, so that during the evening, your free to enjoy your stay. Why not head over to Playa del Carmen? You can head to beach, head to a bar or visit the rest of the island. If people join the course late, their individual classes take place during the evening (as punishment!). Class times are:
Monday to Friday:
9:15am to 10:45 am – Class (2 classes of 45 minutes).
10:45am to 11:00am – Break.
11:00am to 12:30pm -Class (2 classes of 45 minutes).
If you would like to have an even more intensive class, and an even more personalised service during your stay with SpeakMexico, we offer individual classes during the evening and weekend. If you would like further info about the timetable for these individual classes and prices, don’t hesitate to contact a member of our team.
At SpeakMexico, we cancel very few classes during the year, so don’t worry, you wont miss a minute!
Of course! When you finish the whole course, we will present you with an official certificate from us that outlines the course you took, the amount of hours you studied, the level at which you studied, as well as some your personal details (name etc,). Having this certificate is a real bonus when trying to get future employment too.
During the class, our lecturers may only speak Spanish. But don’t worry, we make sure that our students are never left behind, or feel lost during the class. Promise!
Our students are seperated depending on the level of Spanish that they have. A small test will be given to students on the first day, to determine this level. When your level is determined, you will be placed with up to 7 others with the same level as you. This is so it a level playing field in each class.
Don’t want to leave huh? It is possible to extend your stay, as it is very hard to leave Cozumel. However, you must speak with a member of the SpeakMexico team as soon as you have decided to extend your stay. We can’t always guarantee a positive outcome, but we will try our best.

Well, the school and the residence are located in the same building, so we can offer WiFi to you where ever you are. And you don’t have to pay for this access, so you can always be connected! (except in class. If your phone is on during class, you must sleep on the beach for the remainder of your stay… maybe).
At SpeakMexico, fun and entertainment comes as a given, so every week our students take part in activities to practice their Spanish and have real contact with the locals and their city. Some of these educational trips include cooking classes, museum visits, trips to tourist attractions, etc. So when your there make sure you come along!
Upon arrival, our students receive their welcome pack which includes a guide to all of the tourist attractions in Cozumel and the greater Rivera Maya region. So when your not out an about discovering new things on your own, you can join up with SpeakMexico on some of the additional activities we organize for our students. We try to provide new and exciting ways to entertain our students, so keep in the loop about these offers. These activities are an optional additional extra, but they are worth it!
Absolutely not. We dont like sneaky charges, so everything you see is what you get. But sometimes our students have extra needs, that do come with extra charges, because well, they cost more. But as standard, and included in the price, we offer a twin room with the following features:
-2 large beds.
-Private bathroom with shower.
-Internet.
-Power Sockets
-Plasma TV with satellite.
-Telephone.
-Cleaning / Maid Service.
These rooms are designed for two people, so if you come alone, you will be sharing with a new friend.
Apart from our free really nice, really roomy twin rooms, we offer single rooms with same features as the twin room.
-1 large bed.
-Private bathroom with shower.
-Internet.
-Power Sockets
-Plasma TV with satellite.
-Telephone.
-Cleaning / Maid Service.
However, these single rooms do come with an extra charge. See, not sneaky!
Our restaurant is open from 7:30am until 8:30pm, so you have plenty of time to get an amazing meal. Breakfast is free. PLUS our students can avail of 20% off the entire menu. We also provide you with flavoured water with your meal, free of charge! Nice.
